PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – The former Olympian found guilty of sexually abusing several young boys at a summer camp in the 1970′s pleaded guilty to sexual assault charges once again.
Back in February, 72-year-old Conrad Mainwaring pleaded guilty to 16 assault charges, including incidents involving children younger than 14.
When Mainwaring first entered the court system in the 1970′s the charge of indecent assault of a person under 14 did not exist yet. At that time, those crimes were categorized as assault and battery.
On Wednesday, Mainwaring formally plead guilty to 11 counts of indecent assault and battery to a person under 14 years old.
Despite the adjustment in charges, Mainwaring’s prison sentence will not change.
He is set to be behind bars for up to 11 years.
