TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Gas prices are back on the rise in the Hoosier state.
According to data released by GasBuddy on Monday, the state average went up 20 cents per gallon in the last week.
That puts the average at $3.53 a gallon.
Prices in the state are 24 cents higher than last month and 3 cents higher than this time last year.
It’s the same story on a larger scale, with the national average cost rising 4 cents in the last week.
Experts at GasBuddy say the reason for this upward trend is a mix of demand and the switchover to summer gasoline. They say the “madness should slow down in the next few weeks.”
