MILTON, Ky. (WDRB) — Gov. Andy Beshear declared a state of emergency Friday, as National Weather Service officials surveyed damage in the small town of Milton, Ky. that was hit by an EF-2 tornado that damaged homes, toppled trees and caused widespread power outages. 

The Governor also activated the state’s price gouging laws to protect Kentuckians from overpriced goods and services as they clean up and recover from the storms, according to a news release. With the state of emergency in place, Kentucky residents can report price gouging to the Office of the Attorney General. 

Residents like Jessie on Kentucky 36 were picking up the pieces Friday from the EF-2 tornado with winds up to 150 mph that left behind a path of destruction.
