PEORIA (25News Now) – The driver and passenger of a vehicle were arrested on numerous preliminary weapons charges.
Peoria Police say 23-year-old Jazzston L. Logan, the passenger, was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm with defaced identification, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a firearm without a valid FOID, unlawful possession of firearm ammunition without a valid FOID card, and battery.
The driver, 23-year-old Damar A. Bradford, was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card, unlawful possession of a firearm with defaced identification, unlawful possession of firearm ammunition without a valid FOID card and traffic offenses.
Officers stopped a vehicle around 12:45 a.m. Sunday in the 2300 block of North Knoxville Avenue, finding probable cause to search the vehicle.
Officers found a loaded firearm with the serial number scratched off.
They also found illegal drugs on Logan.
Brass knuckles were found on Bradford.
Both were taken to the jail.
