Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL), which is the world’s first solar-powered airport, has entered into a MoU with the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) for setting up an integrated green hydrogen plant in the airport premises.

According to CIAL, this collaborative effort will result in the world’s first green hydrogen plant and fueling station located within an airport setting and has an estimated capital investment of Rs 25 crore.

The initial output from the plant will be reportedly utilised to power vehicles within the airport.
