Solar lenses will be needed for people using a DSLR camera, but a simple pair of eclipse glasses will help your phone capture the eclipse
GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — “One of the big things I wanted to do was more something out of the ordinary,” said Walter Elliott, a photographer and educator in Grand Haven. “Anything celestial, any big event I wanted.”
Walter Elliot first got into photography and film when he was in high school and after embracing digital photography 10 years ago, he discovered his love for capturing the world above.
“That was a very big learning curve for me, I didn’t know what to expect and didn’t know what to do,” said Elliott.
After photographing several partial eclipses he was able to capture his first total eclipse in 2017. He has a few tips to share for those looking forward to this year’s eclipse.
