‘I’m sure democracy will work, leaders will listen’: Sonam Wangchuk on Ladakh’s statehood demand

Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk concluded his 21-day hunger strike on March 26, 2024. Wangchuk, an engineer and education reformer, began his protest on March 6, 2024, to advocate for statehood for Ladakh and its inclusion into the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution. On March 27, 2024, he posted a video from the hospital on his social media account, X, where he shared his thoughts. Watch!
