KOKOMO, Ind. — The city of Kokomo in Howard County is in a unique situation when it comes to viewing the Total Solar Eclipse.
The south side of the city is in the direct path of totality but the north side is not, so people living here will have two completely different experiences. That’s why people living here are planning ahead.
“I think it’s pretty stinkin’ cool,” said Mandee Winrotte, who lives in Kokomo. “My husband was a teacher for quite a few years, so we are kinda nerdy about this kind of stuff. We already have our glasses. We are ready to go.”
Others shared in the excitement.
“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience and there are a lot of people who don’t get to experience it and I am glad that I get to and I get to do it with my parents too,” said Nora Winrotte, who lives with her family in Kokomo.
