THEY’RE SUPPOSED TO WRAP UP MONDAY MORNING, WEATHER PERMITTING, AND THEY WILL EVENTUALLY ADD THAT ICONIC GREEN PAINT BACK TO THE BRIDGE. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that a major bridge connecting New Orleans East to Chalmette will be closed for the weekend. The Green Bridge will be closed starting Friday at 8 p.m. and will reopen Monday, May 3, at 5 a.m. The bridge is getting repairs to its concrete and steel components.
