Jorge Ramirez, 20, was arrested after authorities found 34-year-old Bryan Proenza with gunshot wounds on Friday, Jan. 26 in the area of Rose Lane and Bay Tree Drive, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
He was originally arrested in this incident and charged with three counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
On Tuesday, Ramirez was taken into custody in Brevard County by detectives with the assistance of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators say he was arrested without incident and will be transported to Orient Road Jail.
According to the state attorney’s office, Ramirez was driving his black BMW sedan with two friends when he approached Proenza’s vehicle from behind. Witnesses say Ramirez was trying to pass and cut through a parking lot to avoid waiting at a red light.
