ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – After days of rain, Meriwether County Schools announced Tuesday would be a remote learning day due to widespread flooding and hazardous road conditions.
Several paved roads are heavy with passing water, and many dirt roads are “impassable,” according to the school district.
“These scenarios do not allow the safe transportation of students,” it said.
The district said its schools will contact parents with more details.
Meriwether County Schools closed early Monday due to rising water levels and flooding.
Heavy winds and treefalls have also caused hundreds of power outages across metro Atlanta.
