Mother of Flint boy featured on TIME during water crisis focuses on ‘Journey Forward’ | Flint Water Emergency [Video]

FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) – In 2016, Flint’s water emergency gained national attention on the cover of TIME Magazine; It was titled “Flint – The Poisoning Of An American City.”

The photo features a face that makes your heart sink; the then 2-year-old, Sincere, covered in rashes. His mom said, like many others, he got them from the water in his home.

Ariana Hawk, the mother of the now 11-year-old, says it’s been a roller coaster of emotions, and they’re still reliving and reminded of them, a decade later.
