Nebraska, Iowa energy companies work to prevent sparking fires [Video]

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Nebraska and Iowa energy utility companies are continually improving how they maintain and monitor their equipment to prevent the possibility of starting a fire.

The importance of fire prevention has only been amplified as other energy companies are admitting to their roles in devastating wildfires in recent years, including in Texas, Hawaii, and California.

When the wind picks up or the ground dries out, taking additional precautions to prevent sparking a fire becomes even more vital for crews with MidAmerican Energy Company in Iowa.

“We’re watching things like the drought conditions and the wind.
