New Mexico State Police are investigating a shooting involving officers of their own department. According to NMSP, the shooting happened at 11600 Academy Road NE in Albuquerque. State police officers were there to investigate a previous incident between Sandia police and suspect Francisco Hernandez, 35.The Sandia Police Department issued a warrant for charges of aggravated battery on a police officer, fleeing police and tampering with evidence. That incident happened on Wednesday, March 6.Sandia police were able to find the location of Hernandez and the information was given to state police. Hernandez was located at an apartment complex on Academy Road NE.He tried to flee from state police and crashed into a tree in the parking lot, according to NMSP.
