North Las Vegas pipeline maintenance work causes driver woes; to continue through May [Video]

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – There is growing frustration for some drivers as pipeline maintenance work continues to take place in the area of North 5th Street and Centennial Parkway.

The why behind a sea of caution cones and lane closures comes down to the growing pains of an expanding area. City of North Las Vegas staff explained the pipeline is being lowered to make way for future developments.

The construction woes are a result of increasing the depth of Kern River Gas Transmission’s pipeline. The company, which provides service to Southwest Gas, shared that staff decided to replace the pipeline as well.

Kern River Gas coordinated with the utility company to ensure there was no impact on Southwest Gas users.
