LINES of parked police cars have embroiled the NYPD after the Department of Justice said 91% of city precincts are parking illegally.
New York cops, facing massive parking spot shortages around their precincts, have resorted to parking cars on the sidewalk. And the DOJ warned it’s a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Last month, the Department of Justice wrote a letter to the NYPD warning that it was launching an investigation into the common parking practice, according to News 12 Brooklyn.
The letter warned that the department may be sued if it didn’t move vehicles.
An NYPD representative told The U.S. Sun the department is “reviewing the letter.”
The DOJ also said New York’s police are fully cooperating with the investigation.
