OLATHE, Kan. (KCTV) – A Johnson County man is charged with trying to kill another person and attacking a detention center guard.
The Johnson County District Attorney’s office charged 18-year-old Ian Cooper Fritschie with attempted second-degree murder and the battery of a detention officer.
Court documents show Fritschie stabbed a man four times on March 2.
Following his arrest, Fritschie is also accused of injuring a Johnson County Deputy, who works as a corrections officer at the detention center, according to the documents. The documents did not describe the extent of the deputy’s injuries.
Fritschie made his first court appearance on the charges Tuesday morning. He is scheduled to be back in court on March 14.
