Renewables don’t produce ‘reliable electricity’ and can’t overtake fossil fuels

Author and energy expert Alex Epstein says renewables don’t produce “reliable electricity” and can’t overtake fossil fuels in the energy market.

Mr Epstein joined Sky News Australia host Rita Panahi to discuss how the global coal capacity has grown by two per cent.

“Usually when you have something superior, what it does is it’s totally willing to outcompete the existing thing on the market.

“So in the case of so-called renewables, it would be that they’d be willing to produce totally reliable electricity for the same price or lower price than fossil fuels.

“But they don’t do this at all.”
