CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – Drivers in South Carolina saw minor relief at the pump last week.
GasBuddy surveys show prices in the state fell by 6.8 cents to an average of $2.92 per gallon. Prices in the Palmetto State are 4.4 cents higher than a month ago and stand 5.2 cents lower than one year ago.
The cheapest station as of Monday morning was priced at $2.55 per gallon while the most expensive was priced at $3.99 per gallon, a difference of $1.44 per gallon.
In the Tri-County, the cheapest gasoline was at a station in North Charleston selling gas for $2.67 per gallon.
Nationally, the average price for a gallon of gasoline has fallen 1.9 cents per gallon to an average of $3.24. The national average is up 13.3 cents from a month ago and stands 9.2 cents per gallon lower than last year.
