The ‘huge’ energy opportunity Australia is fighting for in SE Asia | The Business | ABC News

Australia’s government is seeking to boost two-way trade and investment in South-East Asia with a new $2 billion finance facility for green energy and infrastructure projects.

According to the World Economic Forum, the region’s demand for energy is among the fastest growing in the world.

At the ASEAN summit, Anthony Albanese said Australia could leverage its expertise and technology to meet the area’s shared energy security needs.

Director of Green Energy Markets, Tristan Edis, says there’s a big opportunity in the area for Australia, but the competition will be tough with China and the United States already making their push into the region.
