Trial dates set for suspect in stabbing at Portage County Library [Video]

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAW) – A Portage County court will have two options when it comes to the trial of a man accused of stabbing another person at a library.

Frank Jackson is charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide, battery, resisting arrest, and physically abusing an elderly person.

Online court records show two dates have been reserved for the trial to be held– Nov. 19 to Nov. 22 and Dec. 16 to Dec. 20. Portage County District Attorney Cass Cousins tells NewsChannel 7 a definitive date will likely be decided next month when it’s more clear if four or five days will be needed for the trial.

Police say he stabbed a man at the Portage County Library in January. Court documents state witnesses said the men were disagreeing before the altercation. That’s when prosecutors said Jackson stabbed the 71-year-old victim, resulting in a puncture wound to his lung. The …
