ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – On Friday, police announced the arrest of a man accused of killing a student on the University of Georgia’s campus.

Jose Antonio Ibarra, 26, faces several charges — including malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, kidnapping, hindering a 911 call and concealing the death of another — in connection to the death of 22-year-old Laken Riley. On Saturday morning, a judge denied Ibarra bond, saying his court wasn’t authorized to set a bond and sending the matter to a higher court.

Atlanta News First captured video of Ibarra being detained at Argo Apartments off S Milledge Ave in Athens on Friday. The apartments are just south of several wooded trails winding around the area where Riley’s body was found on Thursday.
