An updated severe thunderstorm warning was issued by the National Weather Service on Friday at 3:36 p.m. in effect until 4:15 p.m. for Greene County.
Residents should be prepared for wind gusts of up to 60 mph.
“At 3:36 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles south of Waynesburg, moving northeast at 10 mph,” says the weather service. “Expect damage to trees and power lines, resulting in some power outages.”
The warning is for Mount Morris, Spraggs and Brave.
According to the weather service, “For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding.
