Warmer weather brings kids out to the playground | News [Video]

ROCHESTER, Minn. – The warmer weather is bringing people out of their homes, especially parents who are taking their kids out to the park. This afternoon there were around a dozen kids playing at Three Link Park. 

One parent Melanie Konichek has been living in Rochester for twelve years so she’s familiar with how brutal Rochester winters can be. Her daughters are four and two. Konichek tries to get her kids to the park daily with it being warmer out. She thinks it’s great for their development. 

“They’re not at home depending on like a TV or a tablet,” said Konichek. “They’re looking at nature, they’re exploring everything, they’re meeting new friends, they’re picking up social cues, it’s great.”

When it’s the winter her kids don’t like to get out. But with it being warmer …
