The self-driving cars can now deliver your order to you. Here’s how.
PHOENIX — Do you order from Uber Eats? Now you could be picking up your food from a Waymo car instead of a person.
Waymo, as part of an ongoing partnership with Uber, will now be an option for delivery for customers within the 225-plus square mile Phoenix metro service area.
The fully autonomous vehicle company will be working with select merchants in Chandler, Tempe and Mesa, including places like Princess Pitas, Filiberto’s and Bosa Donuts.
And don’t worry, you don’t have to do anything different to order your Uber Eats to be delivered by Waymo. When placing an order in the Phoenix metro area, customers will receive an in-app prompt that says “autonomous vehicle may deliver your order,” according to a news release from Waymo.
