DENVER (KDVR) – Areas across Colorado are seeing high wind speeds on Monday, causing all sorts of chaos around the state from blown-down signs to canceled flights.
Monday wind speeds will hit as high as 40 mph around the state while gusts are expected to hit 80 mph. Already, the state is seeing the windy effects.
Earlier in the morning, winds blew down an overhead sign on Interstate 25, which held up the southbound morning commute. Meanwhile, Xcel had already received thousands of reports of power outages around the Denver metro area on Monday morning.
At 8 a.m., Denver International Airport posted a travel alert on X warning passengers about the windy day and urging them to check their flights and airline status.
