JOHNSON COUNTY, Kan. (KCTV) — Thirty-three-year-old Andrea Cothran was back in Johnson County Court on Thursday for her arraignment in the case relating to the death of Fairway Police Officer Jonah Oswald.
Cothran is from Goodlettsville, Tennessee, and faces eight charges:
- First-degree murder
- Aggravated battery causing great bodily harm
- Aggravated battery against a law enforcement officer involving a weapon
- Recklessly fleeing a law enforcement officer
- Three counts of felony theft
- Possession of a firearm by a felon.
During the 10-minute Zoom court appearance, Cothran’s attorney asked for a motion to dismiss. He stated Cothran would like to plead not guilty on all the charges but go with the motion to dismiss first before setting a trial.
