The U.S. Coast Guard is helping clean up Cliff House Beach in Cape Elizabeth after a boat ran aground.Cape Elizabeth police say the boat came off its mooring near Peaks Island and then smashed onto the shore at Cliff House Beach on Friday, April 5, leaving debris all over the beach.The Coast Guard is working with the owner of the boat on how to best clean up the beach. Police said, due to the nature of the debris, people should stay away from the beach and wreckage for their own safety.That was not the only maritime issue this week. In Wells, the jetty buoy marker broke loose in last week’s storm. The Wells Harbor Master has notified the Coast Guard but boaters were told to use caution when entering Wells Harbor.
