PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Portland State University (PSU) re-opened campus Friday after days of school-wide closures due to pro-Palestinian protesters occupying the main library – twice.
The cleanup effort is underway Friday while authorities wait to learn how extensive the damage actually is.
The library has been boarded up. Plus, visible damage remains in different areas of downtown Portland by another pro-Palestinian march.
Crews are working to clean up the destruction left behind by protesters who occupied PSU’s main library for three days.
Now, students are also picking up the pieces after multiple days of school closures.
“A lot of folks had midterms including myself, those have been delayed,” said Roger, a PSU student and staff.
Many people said they support pushing for a ceasefire in Gaza.
“I think at a certain point it becomes a necessary action in order to actually get attention,” said Daniel, a PSU alumnus.
