Council offers solar rebates but looks to ‘penalise’ those who refuse [Video]

Sky News host Steve Price says a local council is offering to discount rates for solar installations but also looks to “penalise” if you refuse.

“My local council today announced that if I agree to put solar panels on my roof they’ll give me a discount in my council rates,” he said.

“Okay, fine, I don’t want to particularly put solar panels on my roof.

“My power bill is not very high anyway.

“But they say if you don’t do it we will penalise you with higher rates, then they say the rebate … only extends to properties worth less than $2 million.”
