Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says Australia needs “all types of power”.

Mr Canavan told Sky News host Chris Kenny that renewable energy needs to be installed where it can “make a difference”.

“But we just can’t power a whole industrial economy on power sources that rely on the weather.

“That makes no sense and every country that’s tried it has ended up paying more for power prices.

“We are deindustrialising as a nation, it’s very sad.”
