WABASHA, Minn. (KTTC/Gray News) – A custodian at a Minnesota school is being celebrated by students and staff after he was awarded as 2024′s number one Cintas Custodian of the Year.
Bob Galewski has been custodian at Wabasha-Kellogg High School for 22 years. When he was nominated for national honors, he said he never believed he would make it to the top three.
His victory ended up being a clean sweep.
Andrea Day teaches at the school. She said Galewski has a special connection with students unlike any other.
“For a while there, my daughter’s main focus while at school was to scare Bob,” she said. “And one day she finally did. Then is when I really realized the connections that he makes on a daily basis.”
According to Day, thousands of people from the community stepped up to vote for Galewski when he was nominated. …
