LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Looking for a place to watch the total solar eclipse or maybe plants some new trees in your yard? Louisville Parks and Recreation has some upcoming events for you!

Katey with Louisville Parks and Recreation and Cindi Sullivan with TreesLouisville visited WDRB Mornings on Thursday to talk more about the family-friendly events.

The department is hosting an Eclipse Watch Party at Summit Field inside Iroquois Park, otherwise known as The Overlook. Eclipse glasses will be handed out to the first 300 guests, and the Froggy’s Popcorn Food Truck will be located on the property.

Another fun event coming up on April 13 is TreeFest at Petersburg Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

TreeFest is centered around Louisville’s annual Arbor Day celebration and promotes the importance of trees in Louisville and all around our country.
