GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Duke Energy is providing customers with tips about how to prepare for possible power outages during severe weather conditions.
FOX Carolina First Alert weather team called a First Alert Weather Day for Thursday due to severe storm potential and Friday for strong winds.
In preparation for severe weather, the power company will have crews ready to respond, and are encouraging their customers to prepare in case outage times are extended.
Customers should follow the steps below if an outage happens:
- Prepare in advance in case of extended outages
- Sign up for outage alerts
- Know how to quickly report a loss of power
- Always avoid downed power lines
