JUNCTION CITY, Ore, –Construction crews in Junction City are building and restoring existing wells ahead of the upcoming summer season. This process of building a new well at Bailey Park is creating road closures until early May.
Gary Kaping is the Director of Junction City Public Works in charge of the project. In previous years, the city has had water shortages during the hot summer months, frustrating residents. Kaping said it was never an easy decision to make, but needed to be done given the circumstances.
“It’s not pleasant for them, it’s not pleasant for us, we don’t like doing it,” Kaping said. “This is a way to help prevent that and provide future water for other parts of the city.”
